Many ways to garden (Native grass on bone) by Su_G. Entry in the Gardening Design Challenge. Found Kangaroo Grass seedheads. © Su Schaefer 2018
'Many ways to garden (Native grass on bone) by Su_G'. My entry in the Gardening Design Challenge. 'Kangaroo Grass': representing Australian Indigenous gardening - for long unrecognised. As people moved around country they scattered or drilled-in seeds harvested from other places. European settlers came and saw the results - but did not recognise them as a product of 'gardening' as there were no obvious fences, rows of plants, or irrigation structures... and the first peoples were denigrated as being 'without agriculture'. See Rethinking Indigenous Australia's agricultural past - from the ABC, Australia's national broadcaster, for more information. © Su Schaefer 2018
