about its life, diet, and environment.
This is my large bird design challenge entry. I chose leaning palm trees for my design after seeing numerous photographs of cassowaries on Mission Beach; in some photos framed by palm trees, in others raiding beach goers food. A few Interesting details about the southern cassowary: -Both male and female look virtually identical, except the female is larger, with larger feet and a larger cask (the bony looking head protrusion) -The females generally mate with 2 or 3 males in one season: once she lays her eggs, the male incubates the eggs and raises the chicks. -up to 5'9" tall and nearly 170 lbs. (This varied a bit by source) -Approx. 90% of their diet is fruit -Considered the most dangerous bird in the world (search "Cassowary Feet" and you will see why!) -On Australia's endangered species list The Southern Cassowary 6 1520 studioxtine 2 layer PNG recrop 65p ovly
