in Herten, Germany.
This design is the reproduction of the gown's fabric of the effigy of Sybilla von Nesselrode (died 1602) in Herten, Germany. The combination of French Fleur-de-Lis with celtic knotwork and leaves is rather unusual. I can't tell if the colors would be those of the original gown's fabric (as the effigy is a granite statue); however I was inspired by the fabric that can be found on Eleonora di Toledo's famous cut velvet gown. As usual, if you would like to order this design at a different scale or in different colors, please don't hesitate to send me a message - I can quickly set that up for you. If you were always wondering how different colors print on the various fabrics that Spoonflower offers, please do have a look at my website where I have quite a few comprehensive photos of color swatches printed on various fabrics!
