gold and pink – a great vintage holiday pick!
Julieta Romano is a Three Pears Productions team designer with a long history of textile and product development with me. She is based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where I have lived part time for many years. When Amooti first showed me parts of the over 6000 works of art that are the inspiration for everything we do, I knew I needed to have Juli (hoo′-lee) on the team. A brilliant illustrator in her own right, she brings her unique perspective, experience, and sense of adventure to our creative table. Julieta says that in looking through the art for inspiration she often finds a story being told. Below, first in Spanish, then my English translation, is Julieta's description: "Es como una historia medieval, donde hay belleza, relatos y secretos. Hay princesas, sabios y sacerdotisas. Gente que sueña el futuro y animales que rozan con lo irreal. No se ve, pero hay una niebla oscura que vela la escena. Los colores son como teñidos x el paso del tiempo. El amarillo solía ser oro y los verdes, bronce oxidado. No quedan escritos acerca de estas tierras, pero las imágenes cuentan más de lo que parece." And here, my best English translation of Julieta's description: "It's like a medieval story- where beauty, tales and secrets abound. There are princesses, wisemen and priestesses. People who dream the future and animals that seem surreal. Although difficult to see, there is a dark "fog" that veils the scene. Colors are stained by the passage of time; yellow with a gold hue, greens as patina of oxidized bronze. There are no words about these land, but the images say more than meets the eye."
